Butt joint boards pull in the ends of the board to allow room for paper tape and setting. You’ll end up with smoother, flatter butt joints and reduce your plaster, sanding and labour by nearly half.
These boards are full length so they will back block the joint compared to fiddling with small stitching battens.
There’s also ample room to screw because of the large size.
